Contaminated Soil Treatment

Englobe has been managing and treating contaminated soil since 1993. Our treatment centres, which are certified by the Department of Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change (MELCC), use a proven biological treatment method.

At all of its facilities, Englobe uses a biological treatment process developed in Quebec: Biopile. This process creates favourable conditions for the rapid growth of naturally occurring microorganisms that feed on contaminants, degrading them into non-toxic compounds. Soils are treated until the criteria established by the MELCC are met. Upon completion of treatment, the soil is rehabilitated to existing standards and a decontamination certificate can be provided upon request.

Englobe’s soil treatment centres are planned and operated with the environment in mind to minimize potential nuisances, in cooperation with the community and using a community-based approach.
